Provence has influenced artists from Cézanne and Van Gogh to Picasso, all of whom were inspired by the magnificent light and landscapes of the area. Now you can create your own paint from these six powdered pigments all created in the town of Roussillon, known for its red ochre cliffs. This set comes with six hand-curated pigments representative of the area – light and dark ochre perfect for buildings and rooftops, green for foliage, mineral blue for water, the sky blue that is used on nearly every shutter in Provence and, of course, lavender. They can be mixed with various ingredients to make tempera, watercolor, acrylic and oil (general instructions included). Each set comes in a metal gift tin.
