Originating in Europe for the royalty and the aristocracy, crumb trays were used to collect the crumbs after every meal. Crumb trays did not become widely used in America until the Victorian Era. The woman who sold it to me told me it was her great-grandmother’s. c. 1910
This beautiful piece has seen a bit of wear and is priced accordingly.
It sports the "Major Ab Adversis", "Greater from Adversity" logo with the unicorn and stag coat-of-arms on the front.
Measures approximately 7.5" wide and 5.5" long.
