Vintage Souvenir Jewelry Box, c. 1890-1900 - #10- Trocadero Pariso
This is an amazing collection of ormolu* jewelry boxes from the 1890-1900s, meant as souvenirs for visitors.
There are 19 in all! Each one has a drawing of a Paris landmark on the lid (except two from Strasbourg). I see one of these occasionally, but rarely with the Paris landmarks. Some are in better shape than others (I mean, they are 130 years old.) Some are larger (up to 5.75") and some are very small (2"). Some have little cushion in the bottom or mirrors in the lid. Many have very rare, thick beveled glass sides. Please email with any questions. All ship free and insured.
*a thin gold-colored allow made to allow the metal to be shaped.
#10- Trocadero Paris, the location of the stadium of the 2024 Olympics. What a souvenir!
This is a medium sized box depicting the Trocadero in Paris. It has a beveled glass top and sides. The feet are a bit bent, so leans a tiny bit. The inner white tufted pillow is in good condition The lid has no mirror.
